Soaring Thru Spaces Program

Three Day Programs

Programming during a three day option allows for an incredibly intensive experience for each participant. Students will participate in many ground-based initiatives, a majority of the elements on the team challenge course ("low ropes") and a nice assortment of high ropes challenges. Evening Programs and nightly campfires round out this intensive experience.

Six meals in the dining hall, two nights of accommodations in the cabins, and a picnic lunch prior to departure are included in the cost of a three day program.

Specific arrival, departure and bed times are flexible to allow each program to be customized for specific school needs.

Two Day Programs

There is something about an overnight experience that seems to "up the anty", bringing groups together for much greater accomplishments than they ever achieve in a single-day program. Students will participate in ground-based initiatives, then move on to a series of tasks on the team challenge course ("low ropes"), then spend the rest of the morning experiencing the high ropes course. An evening program and campfire add to the evening's festivities, and to the overall goals.

Three meals in the dining hall, one night of accommodation in the cabins, and a picnic lunch prior to departure is included in the cost of a two day program.

Specific arrival, departure and bed times are flexible to allow each program to be customized for specific school needs.

One Day Programs

The length of a one day program is completely dependent on the visiting groups availability. Our basic recommendation is this: "The longer the better!"

Most groups are happy to attempt only the "teambuilding" aspect of the Soaring Thru Spaces Program in a one-day visit. Great strides can be made by a group in this kind of one-day program, though there really is something about the overnight program that allows students to take the challenges more seriously and grow as a group more intensively.

Occasionally, a group will try to fit both team challenges and high ropes elements into a one-day program. If the visit can be long enough, there is some merit to this type of schedule. However, please do not plan on this combination if you also have to get back to school for regular dismissal.

Meals in the dining hall are indeed available at an extra charge for One Day visitors, but there are also picnic facilities available at no charge, so most folks prefer to "brown bag".

Off-Site Programs

If spending the night is just not an option, and traveling to our Center is difficult, our staff are also able to deliver life skill development programs on site at your school. Such onsite programs require some logistical maneuvering on the school's part, and a slightly higher fee to cover the Center's transportation costs. They can also be combined with a visit to the Center on a separate date, to create a two-day, "On & Off" program that takes advantage of the equipment and facilities at Betsy-Jeff Penn on the second day.
