Spring Staff Training

During the Spring and Fall, school groups come to BJP for field trips! Our instructors teach students different environmental education classes, teambuilding skills, and how to face their fears on our high ropes course. We spend a few weeks before the season kicks off to review all these skills and classes, like Pioneer Living History and Aquatics.

Why are you looking forward to Summer Camp?

As most of you know, our Summer camp Director for the past 9 years, Caleb Cochran, has decided to resign and pursue other opportunities. I’m sure I can speak for all of us who have worked with him in saying that he has definitely left this mark on this camp and he will be missed. Thankfully, he has extended his end date to the end of April to help hire staff, teach me the intricacies of his role, and ensure that we are set up for success for this upcoming summer.
With this summer fast approaching, I will be transitioning from my position of Assistant Director to taking on the responsibilities of the Summer camp Director temporarily until the Full Time position is filled after this 2023 Summer season. I am very honored to be stepping into some of the roles that Caleb is leaving behind and hope to continue the tradition of executing a fun summer for both campers and staff. My time here for over 15 years as a camper, LIT, and in various employment positions has taught me so much and I am very thankful for this opportunity to be a part of the BJP Family in a new way.
